The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced the signing of center Micheal Haley to a Professional Tryout (P.T.O.) contract. Haley, 21, has joined the team and practiced with the Sound Tigers today at Arena at Harbor Yard.
The 5'10, 200-pound center-man has played the beginning portion of this season with the Islanders ECHL affiliate, the Utah Grizzlies. Haley contributed 10 goals and five assists for 15 points through the team's first 22 games. Haley leads the Grizzlies in penalty minutes with 94 and has a +7 rating.
A native of Oshawa, ON, Haley is making his first appearance in the American Hockey League. Haley played in the Ontario Hockey League for five seasons with the Sarnia Sting and the Toronto St. Michael's Majors. His best season in junior hockey was the last year when he piled up 30 goals and 24 assists for 54 points in 68 games. At the end of the season, the South Carolina Sting Rays of the ECHL signed Haley. Haley was invited to the Sound Tigers training camp this season and has impressed the coaching staff well enough to earn his promotion to the AHL. *******************
Great sign here. I have caught quite a few Utah games this year and not only can this kid fight, but he can score goals too. I hope he makes an impact with the ST and stays with the team. I cant wait for some more vids of this kid!

10 goals 5 assists. not too bad. can't wait to see him play.
btw: the sound Tigers website has "Soundtigers TV" like Isles TV but for the Sound Tigers. VERY cool. I don't know how long it's been up but I only just noticed it now. Theres a vid of Kip Brennen mic'd up at practice that's pretty cool.
