The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced the signing of defenseman Joe Rullier to a 25-game Professional Tryout (P.T.O.) contract. Rullier, 27, has joined the team and practiced with the Sound Tigers today at their official practice facility, The Rinks at Shelton.
The 6’3, 230-pound blue-liner played the 2006-2007 campaign for the Manitoba Moose, Portland Pirates and Springfield Falcons, tallying a total of two goals and 12 assists with 94 penalty minutes in 40 games.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Rullier has appeared in 438 career American Hockey League games with the Lowell Lock Monsters (2000-01), Manchester Monarchs (2001-05), Hartford Wolf Pack (2005-06), Manitoba Moose (2006-07), Portland Pirates (2006-07) and Springfield Falcons (2006-07).
The Los Angeles Kings originally selected Rullier in the fifth round, 133 overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
