www.soundtigers.com/news/release_010507b.htmThe Bridgeport Sound Tigers' NHL parent club, the New York Islanders, have traded forward Matt Koalska to the Ottawa Senators' organization for defenseman Tomas Malec. Malec had a goal and 12 assists for 13 points in 33 games with the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators this season. Malec, 24, stands at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, and has a left-handed shot. He was born in Skalica, Slovakia. Malec was selected by the Florida Panthers in the third round, No. 64 overall, in the 2001 National Hockey League Entry Draft. The defenseman broke into the AHL with the Lowell Lock Monsters in the 2002 playoffs. In 282 career AHL games, he has 13 goals and 70 assists for 83 points. He has two assists in 10 AHL postseason games all-time. In 43 career NHL games, including 41 with Carolina in 2002-03, Malec has two assists. Koalska, 26, had 19 goals and 30 assists for 49 points in 75 games with the Sound Tigers in 2005-06. He also played three games with the parent club New York Islanders last season. Koalska is 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds. The St. Paul, Minn. native was selected in the fifth round, No. 154 overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Don't know much about Malic but he does drop the gloves on a rare occasion. here are his stats so far this season.

I was wondering what was going on with Koalska. I know he was with the team but hasnt played a game this season. As for Malec, Ive heard the name and thats about it.
