EMC Sports - When Alex O'Neil thought about what he would be doing this month, never in his wildest dreams did he believe he'd be trying out for a spot on an NHL team.
But that's exactly what the 18-year-old Kemptville hockey player and former Kemptville 73 will be doing in the next few weeks. O'Neil, who currently plays in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) with the Brampton Batallion, has been invited to attend the New York Islanders' rookie camp. One of only 12 forwards to be chosen, the left winger will be taking part in some rookie games against the Boston Bruins.
